Memories are a funny thing
even if your memory is reletively sound
making the memory into something permanent requires an
open mind and something to refer to
remembering mum and dads birthday might be an easy one, but
if your mind slips, whilst you are
Zedding away in the land of nod – its
easy to let time pass you by – best use a diary!
Building Blocks, at the Cabin, BASIC Clicks. (p) BFK 2016
It begins simply enough,
a simple bucket of bricks
stacked up from top to bottom
till at last – they topple
oh what fun!
The next thing you know
you’re building a wall
with stuff from the sea
and occasionally it falls
oh what fun

A Tangerine for Elevenses
When they are around, when i’m heading for BASIC I always take a Tangerine (or two)with me for the break period during the photography class. I like fruit, but Tangerines more, because of the way they fit in the hand and are easy to Peel!
They are also less messy than another of my Favourites , Oranges…(see below)
Three of my Favourite Fruits
I like oranges, particularly the juice. But also sliced up and served with a dash of sugar.
Apples are great any time of the year, but if I had to pick a favourite I prefer green to red
When the greengrocer can get them, I also enjoy Kiwi fruit – you cant eat the skin but this fuzzy haired fruit has a really lovely taste
They say you should have five a day – but the fruit is nice any time of the day.Another fruit I enjoy are Bananas. Any time of the Day. either as part of Breakfast, or as a pudding after lunch or tea….Normally seen eaten by me tween two slices of Warburton’s Wholemeal – with or without the addition of chocolate spread 🙂
Also nice covered in custard, or in a cake – or a mix of the two 🙂 Apologies for the last pic not being here – I scoffed the evidence (Hee Hee!)

Diving over a tree!
We’ve been playing with Objects and Backdrops today – and the toy cars!
Continuing on from last week we set up our shots on the stations before taking the shots with our camera
Using the clips from old magazines and the toy cars produced some really good shots and saved us the cost of location (Hee Hee!)
I revisited this picture from the last session. Using the pencils as “Pointers”. I hadn’t spotted this till after taking the pic, but I created a “Sunrise” effect by marking them out.
As well as the lego men, Graham, one of the group brought in some railway model men
this allowed the group to be a bit more adventurous with our photos….
and here’s a couple when I got home 🙂 Created along the same principles – studio a bit more rustic than that of BASIC Clicks…but objects and subject matter stayed the same (Astronomy book provided a little colour!)
Heading home from the moon

If you’ve got any favourites – feel free to let me know!

We were back in the base camp of BASIC Clicks photography group on Friday creating scenes with backgrounds, toy cars and figures
taking every day items and creating something new, from behind the camera lens.
Another show at BASICs sponsor, John Lewis will be on display soon.
Here’s some of my favourites from Fridays session. Created with the trusty Sony Bridge camera.
Wine and Roses
Another Photographic from the archive – without the need for a soaking at any of the Zoo’s in the Northwest of England!
Amazing what you can do with a magazine and some toy figures….
Created by Inky at the Portacabin. Home of the BASIC Clicks photography group.
Camera : Sony DSC – H300

Me and my chums in the photography group at BASIC played around with some special effects today.
Using images from magazines and some toy cars and lego men, We created something rather special…courtesy of our cameras (including my trusty Sony DSC) and a Tripod.
Now, creating the Images didn’t involve any space travel…just the right background and a close up zoom lens…as well as an anchor for the toy cars and figures we used in the shots.

New day, new morning, New opportunity.
Granted, it might not be paid. But I’m working with some great people
I’m approaching my new role with little baby steps (odd for a 40-odd yr old) and all with a smile!
taking and delivering orders, brewing cuppas, washing pots and pans and waiting tables
all in the familiar surroundings of the Brain & Spinal Injury Centre in Salford.
Processes ? learning how to turn on the cafeteiere (posh machine for heating the brews) and mastering the art of the till have been difficult – but i’ve managed!
even down to the zen mastery, that is how others have their brews….
and for Those wondering if i’ve kicked my museum work into touch – you need not worry – i’ll be back there on Monday!

in response to wordpress photo challenge Focus
Here’s a Pic of A Greek Chapel, in Crete taken during a recent family holiday.
I played around with the depth of field in this shot – concentrating the focus on the chapel and the bench outside.
Being a chapel – I couldn’t take a shot of the inside. So i concentrated on the area around it!
Camera used was my Trusty Digital Stills Camera from Sony, additional tweaks to the Depth of field was done using Adobe photoshop elements.
And for those who wanted to see the original pic of the chapel – here it is….
