Blackpool

Blackpool, 11th April 2017

Tuesday saw me take a little trip up the motorway to Blackpool with my sister Anne Marie and my two nephews James and George

Blackpool Tower

It wasn’t really seaside weather so, we visited the Tower circus and the Sea life centre instead….

The sea life centre was our first place we visited – and we all enjoyed the sharks, and the dolphins and Rays (as well as the fish)

The Circus Ring – Before the Show

There were lots of acrobats, and juggling and trapeze acts at this show, and plenty of clowning around…and lots of laughter.

We finished off the day with a picnic lunch by the tower.

Another original scribble from the pen of inkdrop, wi a little imagery from google….messed about by yours truly

A place the wild things call home

greenery up and down the land

from the tiniest of bugs to man’s cousins

they all live here

co – existing under the shelter of mother natures clouds

and whilst little ones play in watery lagoons

others sleep in treetops – till the rising of the moon

Taking the leap

Second Thoughts

it seemed like such a good idea at the time

fuelled by bravado , and a third bottle of champagne

but as you were strapped into your harness

the doubts began to amass

but the time for self-doubt has now gone

you never know – it might be fun

as you head off the basalt ledge

and traverse down the mountains edge

Unfinished

Unfinished

During the sackings of Rome and Greece

The builders fled the construction site

Leaving the temple and markets to birds

As angry protesters had their words

The wreckage that built up was left in the sand

till one day a man from museum had plans

to recover the buildings located by sea

and learn of the heritage of the site for free

Hide and Seek

Hide and Seek

An Allpoetry  piece by yours truly – about little green men from mars (sic)

They called him “Curiosity”
and sent him off to Mars
to dig up samples of possible life
and collect them up in jars.

He had a bumpy landing,
from his journey from far off earth
but once he’d picked up rays from the sun
he was off for all he was worth

He collected samples for a week
the humans – on earth – sent him to seek
up and down this planet of red
till he powered down and went to bed.

And when he woke up
Imagine the surprise
Greeted by little men from mars
when he did rise

“You found us!” said a little furry creature in Green
“We’re such great hiders – we’ve never been seen”
So then it was his turn – and his wheels they did run
(after he’d charged up his batteries in the sun)

So, Dear scientists don’t worry today
his batteries aren’t broken – he’s gone off to play
with his new friends the Martians – he’s been there for weeks
finding new places – to play “Hide and Seek”
