I

At first glance

you could mistake it

for any other pie

the pastry lid hiding

the chefs special recipe

of meat vegetables and spices

underneath

It sits on the baking tray

and the clock ticks away

as the oven brings together

various flavours hidden away

under the pastry crust

waft of spicy mango and thai basil

travels from the oven to the nose

The lid cracks open

and the spices drift

the sauce warm but mild

this ain’t no vindaloo

but its not a korma either

as the various components

dance with your taste buds
