Scary

#Fowc #Scary

Some might say your

Common garden horror flick at Halloween is enough to

Accelerate your heart beat – but

Really, it’s after the festivities of Christmas and New Year

You’ll really scream out – stay off the scales!

behind each little basket on Halloween night

a little munchkin , male or female, in a

spooky costume, and as the treats

keep on coming this receptacle

eventually fills all the way to the top

toffees, sweets and chocolates for spooky visitors

Mystery

Mystery

All Hallows eve, Salford 2017

Maybe it was a ghost that paid a visit

yesterday – but if that’s the case

some ghost has a taste for cocoa and cookies

taken from my suppertime plate

each cookie now resembling a crescent moon

reduced levels in the cocoa mug

yes its a puzzle – whodunnit ?

Eerie

Eerie

Entering an empty house can be

Enough to make the most brave of people shiver

Rickety gates and floorboards don’t half make a noise

If the wind travels over them, it’s like something is there

Expecting you, but there’s nothing to be seen

Old Moggy Mew

31st October 2016

A poem for Halloween – written by yours truly.

Artwork composed using Colorfy

Old Moggy Mew

By Brian F Kirkham

Cat.jpg

Old Black cat sits on the broken stone step,

waiting for his owner to appear.

She’s taken to the air in flight

the midnight sky is clear.

And as the stars they move about

A feathered friend appears

An Owl coming from the above loft

“Hello, Cat” he cheers…

somethings brewing on the hill

the ghosts are gathering – feel the chill

moggy mew looks out into hallowed stars

and spots his owner from up there afar

she hovers down softly – and mew leaps on the broom

and with a twitch of the stock – it moves with a zoom

flying cross country and farm and on ranch

as mew holds on tight to the magical branch.

Shiver

Shiver

The change in the seasons

It leaves you cold

as you make your way

walking through the woods

First frosts paint delicate crystals

across fallen tree leaves

they crunch underfoot

as you make your way home

as jack frost paints

you pull at your coat

wrapping your scarf

tight round your throat

A noise in the distance

and heart goes a quiver

there’s no one around

and in fear you do shiver.

Little Ghost’s Tale

A little ghost came out to play
but found the children ran away
When he appeared that Hallowed Night
He wandered what gave them a fright

He’d been alone in that old spooky house,
with no one to talk to but a passing mouse
who after seeing little ghost wi a squeak
ran off quickly with an eek!

But then one night of New Years Eve,
an old black cat, were playing in leaves…
He spotted little ghosts ghostly head
and decided to play in his house instead.

And the old black cat, brought his chums too
chanting and wailing and all going BOO!
and the ghosties and ghouls all round the place
made friends with the ghost wi’ the bluish white face

So when you see trails on All Hallows Eve,
Don’t be frightened, Don’t worry, Just believe
as the ghosts have their tea at Little Ghosts Place,
the one where the host has a bluish white face

Ghostly

Appearances in a darkened room
can be deceptive to the naked eye

Old Cats, (and sometimes bats)
fly through an old house (in search of a mouse)

At night, in the light, of a midnight moon
it’s not only Owls that fly

So don’t take flight – when something white
suddenly shows up, at night.

(It’s only the old owner, passing by.)
