Out with my Camera

Wednesday morning means i’ve been at BASIC in Salford, learning new stuff around my camera.

SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

We’ve worked with items you would find on the shore, including some coloured sand , some pebbles and stones and a great big piece of rock.  Its produced some lovely shots, as i practiced the close up of the stones shells and sand.

Used my Zoom and moved around the pebbles to achieve some great shots

The colours really showed through against the white sand and i got some lovely pics.

Another boot in a window

A tale of an Old Army Boot – On display in the timeline at Imperial War Museum North in Trafford, Manchester.

Another boot in a window ?

The cobbler must be proud!

As it’s placed in a window wi uniforms

Oh, how it sings out loud.

But, dear boot is looking quite shabby,

No polish on him for a while

Old mud encrusted in his leather

Is that the latest style?

Foreign Mud – well , its hard to get rid of

and old boot here has plenty to see

but its wailing a tone – as it sits, all alone

under someone’s old uniform it be

His sole it could do with some tacking

and a new lace will do there – I’m sure

as you read of his story in th’ window

one you’ve not heard of before

He’s telling the tale of his brother –

The one , who didn’t return

So he’ll sit there in Solemn Remembrence

In the hope, you and I, we will learn.

The terrace at No 3

A descriptive piece on a building in Lark Hill Place, at Salford’s Museum and Art Gallery.

Old building by Cobbles

with Oak table and chairs,

Copper Kettle boils on stove

near to the stairs.

Fruit from the grocers,

is cut up and cored

ready for the pie crust

in the oven its stored.

Washboard and Dolly tub

in the back yard they’re hooked

ready for the washing

that’s been overlooked

And when they are rinsed out

and gleaming with pride

they’ll dry on a washing line

on pegs hanging outside

And on the Oak table

the porcelain that’s the best

as the family that lives here

is having a guest.
