Sandwiched together hot off the confectioners table oblong biscuits of loveliness rippled with caramel and chocolate taken usually with a nice cup of tea crafted by an artisan and served up as part of an afternoon lunch keeping watch, children with a sweet tooth expecting a piece of this dessert after the sandwiches
I’d been wandering what dad was going on about when he mentioned an extra present at the end of Christmas time
I’d enjoyed seeing the brightly coloured baubles on the Christmas tree, especially the new larger ones. They were twinkly inside. I just guessed they were part of the decoration
Time came and each of the baubles came off the branches of the tree
and Dad told me of his secret….The twinkly baubles actually contained SWEETS. The foil wrapping reflected the lights off the tree
and in one of the big round baubles , all coloured red was my special surprise – a bag of vanilla fudge.
Stop press….it’s not just my dear old dad hiding stuff in baubles. My provider of hot chocolate has been at it too…delivered on 7th January. so now there’s another metal bauble for the Christmas tree.
