Cerulean

A Wave - Cerulean Blue Colour

#CYW #Colour #Ocean #Blue #Octpowrimo

It’s that colour you see far off

when you’re sat on the beach

looking at the horizon

and you’re looking at the water far away

Could it be that colour that

entered the sky when the

roundness of the sun

ups and leaves the sky

leaving it darker with only

earths moon in the sky to provide

a light on the ground below ?

new moons shine on this colours curtain

Armistice

11th November 2017

poppy-remembrance-poems-bk

As the accord was signed

Regiments over the battlefields of europe

Made safe their weaponry, as commanding officers

Instructed their men to stop shooting

So they stayed at their post

Till the time was declared by those in charge

It’s time for the firing to stop , lads –

Come back home, you’re needed here

Enjoy the boat ride back.

Navy Blue

Navy ?

A Nautical colour

Very respected as the colour of the senior service

Yachts to Dreadnoughts – are adorned in it

North to South – Compass bearings

Are used to navigate

Vessels through dangerous waters –

Yomping through ice and hiding from the enemy

Naval Company Colours

Anchored off the shoreline are

Very Dark in Colour – when not in camouflage

Yet Revered by all who wear it.

Note, however though all men on ship wear the colour

An officer, wears slightly darker

Verifying his rank on the vessel

Year upon Year

Manchester’s Snowdrop Ferry – In Dazzle Colours – Landing in Liverpool

Hey! over Here!  Yeah, Man – It’s ME!

Hiding away, in plain sight, in the sea.

A product of Her Majesty’s Royal Na-vee…

But one you can’t spot – I’m sure you’ll agree

Hidden, I’ll protect you

by day or by night

with my dazzling colours to avoid a fight

coloured like sea and sky so bright

enemy spotters cant see me quite right.

And it’s not just me hiding – look up in the air

catch a glimpse of my flying friends if you dare

on spotting missions against th’ enemy

and tanks hidden like fallen trees

So keep your eyes open –

and don’t let them veer

One Minute i’ll be there

and the next

Disappear!

Dazzle

Hey! Over Here! Yeah, man its me!
I’m hiding, in plain sight, out here in the sea.
A product of Her Majesty’s Royal Navy
(but one you can’t spot – on that we’ll agree)

I’ll hide to protect you,
by day or by night.
With my dazzling colours i’ll avoid a fight.
Coloured like sea, so when the sun is so bright
the enemy spotters wont see me right.

And up on my decks, observe the ranks –
Jungle coloured RVs and Desert coloured Tanks
Hiding away, and really hard to see
Ready for missions against the enemy.

But its not just us hiding – take a look in the air,
and catch a glimpse of our flying friends if you care.
You may catch a sight of their trails in the sky,
but by the time you have noticed – they’ve passed you by.

So all keep your eyes peeled,
and don’t let them veer
One Minute I’ll be there,
Then the next – Disappear!
