Cities Photography Spooky Superstition Tale Treat Treats

Eerie, by Brian F Kirkham

The most frightening thing about Halloween – Nothing’s going on!

No cars moving down main street

No children around saying “Trick or Treat”

Not a sound of a Movement in the midnight air

Look out of the window – there’s nobody there

but floating through air – the willow-the-wisp

telling tales of fairies in the sky cold and crisp

followed by friends of the cold dark wood

and you cant hear them sing – even though you should

the eeriest thing this whole Halloween

the most lifeless street that you’ve ever seen

Spooky Superstition

I was due on the 13th April

(arrived early on the scene)

had looks to break a mirror

in pieces – sharp but clean

Kept a black cat at home

which would take on local dogs

and would sit in all kinds of weather

in puddles deep for frogs

And Lucky shamrocks grew

in a garden lush and green

along with Deadly Nightshade

and other witches herbs between

Unlucky for Some

DSC00542They say you should save up your pennies
for a rainy day,
appreciate the free stuff
use the blue skies play

Stepping on cracks is unlucky
And crossing a black cat is too
but there’s summat that’s been bothering me
and i’ll tell you what’s to do

If you take in every old wife’s tale you’re spun
you’ll be finished I tell ye before you’ve begun
Superstition saves us from scrapes
but you’ll enjoy the test in all those japes

So whip up a Tent over the washing line
enjoy the stars, whilst weather is fine
Have some enjoyment, grab some fun
and enjoy your days , they’ll run and run.

BTW….about that rainy day
you’ve saved your pennies in some other way?
It’ll be raining come the morning
Hip Hip Hooray!!!
