We need this stuff
As it keeps our insides hydrated
That’s the same for most habitants of
Every sea on the Planet, but they also
Rely on it for their breakfasts lunches and teas

something to come like
hells bats at the tail end of a warm summer
in a moment you’ve gone from contently warm to
very cold without warning
everyone knows you could have prepared but
rain sleet and snow on a summers day….like taking a
swim in the ice cold sea

At the top of the hour
waking up, was the big forest trees
as the sunbeams hit their leaves with a message
“Kids, it’s time to get up”
excitedly, they rustled their branches
nests moving as they did so – the first, the
industrious insects collecting leaves at the bottom of the tree
next, the birds
great squirrels and hedgehogs followed
some scampering for the fruits the big tree left them

They’ve packed their schoolbags
summer officially over for another year
and yet, the kids are smiling
as they pass the loaded horse chestnut tree
on their way to reading writing and arithmetic
picking out the ones they think
will make them champion of the school yard

for this guy with the moustache
brought a smile to the world
with wit and humour
even if it were with a little help from his brothers
