Old Moggy Mew

By Brian F Kirkham

Cat.jpg

Old Black cat sits on the broken stone step,

waiting for his owner to appear.

She’s taken to the air in flight

the midnight sky is clear.

And as the stars they move about

A feathered friend appears

An Owl coming from the above loft

“Hello, Cat” he cheers…

somethings brewing on the hill

the ghosts are gathering – feel the chill

moggy mew looks out into hallowed stars

and spots his owner from up there afar

she hovers down softly – and mew leaps on the broom

and with a twitch of the stock – it moves with a zoom

flying cross country and farm and on ranch

as mew holds on tight to the magical branch.
