Helicopters

IMG_0248

Not what you’re thinking – another of my nature poems – this time on the humble sycamore tree.

also appears on allpoetry.com

The seeds hang paired
from the branches of the tree
awaiting the time
and new places to see

Powered by the wind
the seed flies in th’air
as they leave the tree
without a care

And in the wind,
the seed it does turn
and flies off for miles
till a rest it does earn

and the helicopters land
on the soil lush and brown
leaving their seed
in a place in the ground
