Mum smiled as she sat
with the ladies at lunch
as they admired the works of art
Dad pondered too on that
as on sandwiches they did munch
and he sat drinking his tea
for while family heirlooms did look smart
the cost of the posh paint – didn’t fill him with glee

After falling from a height
these little seeds of green and brown
are waiting about
for their opportunity
See, they’re waiting
for the local wildlife
to pick them up
or perhaps a child or their mum and dad
Waiting for that opportunity
where they’ll head for a warm, cosy bed
returning when the weathers warmer
and they’ll appear, quite different
and when the time is right
they’ll thank those who buried them away
by providing them with shade in the summer
or even a home amongst their branches

wings that travel far and wide
foodstuffs ? accessible

come together
with the help of a
little pair of hands
stacked, lined up or piled up
forming walls houses and towers
all brought together
with a little help from mum or dad
and he’ll play with the little wooden men
travelling round his block town
of course the best thing of its construction

picturing views in number form
while their owners are sleeping nice and cosy
occasional sums create visions that leap
something that humans see beyond the norm
and makes them happy on power-save mode
producing pictures of bears and outdoors, rosy
created from dreamt up binary code

cast out by the family
victim of progress

to go on a trip
nothing to see here
but an old memory set
of events monochrome

Tween two banks of trees
A river flows freely by
while birds look on below
living on the bank
is fine for otters and voles
but some need to cross
so helpful people
put a handy place to go
from bank a to b
and it just happens
to be a perfect placement
