Optimism

I do like someone with a sense of optimism

in the cold and dark of winter

with santa having made his way home

someone in the department store

is bringing a spot of colour

to the wind, rain and snow

its got me thinking of sandcastles and ice lollies

off the promenade when the sun hits the shore

and the winds are more like summer breeze

than arctic cold

while the sea laps up over the sand

saying “Hi! not seen you for a bit

come on in! and say hello to the fish,”
