The Road to the stately home

was a bit of a hazard on

rainy or snowy days

The Trees lining the road

Thought it best

to provide the drivers with cover

They held their branches

and caught raindrop and snow

allowing the driver a path to go

and mopping up water

a drink they didn’t need

but gardener came – with occasional feed
