passed by the kitchen window

Now family favourites can change

but the dish – no matter who cooks it

always begins with the chicken

as vegetables and grains prepare

to enter the buttery broth

Potatoes, Swede, Carrots

swim in a sweet jacuzzi

steaming away with parsnips?

More Onions mean

Tomato makes the mix

mixing with carrots and spice

The saucepan bubbles away

The whiff travels through the house
