In my next life,
I probably would want
to return as a cat
No real responsibilities
Just there to please my owner
and chase off errant birds or mice
And i’d sit on my owners lap every day
occasionally going in the garden to play
toying about with a woollen ball
or chasing a butterfly giving it all
My spirit would take me to other smart greens
and furry friends we would meet unseen
but back in the kitchen – i’d make a retreat
for something my owner had made me to eat
