The waiter brought over
the porcelain bowl
decorated in blue and white
a slice of lemon
floating in its centre
it’s fragrant smell – hitting the nostrils
a funny kind of soup – i thought
till the waiter told me
it was for cleaning my paws after
the dim sum was finished.
