How to capture a butterfly

You don’t need a net

chasing this moving rainbow

fluttering its colourful wings and

painting pretty scenes over squares of green

No fancy digital stuff

Just an observant eye

and an instant camera

with a careful digit over

that silver shutter button

patience helps – as time passes

and you’re waiting for that perfect moment

as the butterfly drinks deeply

from the colourful fruit holding the nectar sweet

and your finger hits that magic button –
