Wild Animals

Living in the city, some would say i would see very few Wild Animals where i live.

Thing is, that’s not entirely true

walk among the green space that’s dotted around the area and you may come across Moles, Hedgehogs and Squirrels making their way across the city

from time to time the squirrels might be seen in the local park, harvesting seeds and acorns

in certain areas you’ll see voles and otters, particularly when you pass a river course. you have to keep your eyes peeled for the voles – blink and you’ll miss them as they go back and forth tween the water and their holes

And with an increase in people living in the neighbourhood, this attracts predators such as foxes. You’ll be lucky if you see them trotting about in the daytime – there’s too much traffic. But when the cars and lorries have vacated the road, you’ll see them checking out the bins for tasty treats to take back for tea.

True, there’s plenty of squirrels in my local park and I’ve also seen a fox. Cities are not empty of wildlife.

Its that moment when they skip over six lanes of traffic that makes me smile Linda. Cheers for reading!
