How does one obtain an ostrich?

It’s a tricky question

i’d imagine growing one from an egg

the one left behind by Mrs O

as she ran headlong into the grasses

to avoid being trampled on

by the big elephant, who’d just seen a mouse

You couldn’t just take it home

It would be wrapped up in something snug

to keep it warm like a bug in a rug

surrounded by some mother geese

who’d keep it warm, and safe like police

and as time passes, you’d hear a loud peck

and arrival of ostrich – with a very long neck

and because they’d be hungry – there would be a need

to provide them a breakfast – some big bags of seed

It might be a surprise – to the chickens around

but fun and games would be had in the round

as the chicks played with their cousin with the very big feet

running around in the yard for a treat
