They keep sending rockets into the air
with instruments ready so the people can prepare
to visit new planets away from the earth
before the sun eats us for all that its worth
and a big hunk of metal floats round us with ease
showing life in space with one great big tease
they say there’s a planet – some distance away
where people could go and work, rest and play
but the journey to get there would take many years
boring the passengers close to tears.
