a good half hour

A True Italian Dish ? Maybe

the recipe was authentic

but the ingredients?

Pasta ? Produced in a bakery

with flour oil and salt

fresh outta Preston

Bacon ? came from a pig

who had a long life

on a farm in Bury

Tomatoes ? Grown on a hillside

More Todmorden than Tuscan

packaged in a plant in Bolton

Surely the Basil came from nearby Rome?

No….It we’re grown closer to home

alongside Onions from Oldham

Oh but the Cheese – Its Italian – Surely yes

Made from Buffalo Milk – that passes the test!

Mozzarella from Manchester ? how did you guess!
