Half past ten , on a sunday night
something strange glows with red lights
sat in position high in the sky
forming a triangle and i wonder why
could aliens be making an unscheduled stop….
popping into a Manchester shop?
or heading into a kiosk late ?
to pick up chocolate , crisps or dates
one things for certain – tonight they will stay
perhaps they’ll stick around to play
enjoying a nap in the northern dark
and taking a whizz round a Manchester Park ?
