Change of Mind

The message was about

to disappear into the air

physically destroyed

by the ignited match

The message was saved

in a moment of clarity

when the poet asked

“What’s wrong with it?”

For while appearances seemed

unpleasing to the eye

The message conveyed

made the reader take a second look at it
