Summat’s Missing

#WDYS

Photo credit: Not All There – The Enigmatic Sculptures of Bruno Catalano.

He’s off to work

like every other day

but somethings missing

Casually left,

in favour of an early morning start

to get the work done

something that cannot be just

topped up with the morning coffee

at ten o’ clock

The engine is running

but its running on empty

relying on the stuff at the bottom of the tank

Redemption comes from a refill

passing by at eleven

something sugary, or protein tween two bits of whole white loaf

And as the waft of tea and bacon

passes through him like the wind

he suddenly feels whole again

Oh yes, isn’t this truth. Without something to fill our tummy, we do feel incomplete. Thanks for joining in.
