Greeted by the sound of resident
Gulls, Geese and Pigeons
Someone decided its time to get up
Timed to perfection, not
overdone
application of butter or jam – that depends – are we having
soldiers with our soft-boiled egg or
triangles for the damsons
Toot, goes the sound of the kettle
emptying over the loose leaves in the strainer
as the water turns a delightful amber
