Flow

A flotilla of rubber ducks

landed head first into the nearby river

their net being attacked by the factory cats

They didn’t squeal

They didn’t squeak

They didn’t even QUACK

The only noise,

The sound of a gentle splash

as ten thousand rubber ducks

softly hit the water

birds above, called out a call

to the ducks geese and swans

“for one and for all!”

Where they were headed,

nobody would know

what they knew – they were enjoying the flow
