Just another Sandwich

It began simply enough

two pieces of crusty white bread

from the loaf bought in the morning

slight spread of butter

slapped on either piece in anticipation

salad cream for the vegetables

cucumber for crispness (lettuce lay aloft on the salad bar)

tomato and sweetcorn lying over

the chicken , beef , pork combo

that made the heart of the masterpiece

more sauce added – not brown – not tomato – more sweet onion

and then before the bread enclosed it – more tomato and cucumber

the bread lid shut – the sandwich cut and lay on the plate

the only quandry – how to eat it with those wooden things keeping it together?

  1. If a sandwich needs a G clamp to hold it together, sure as eggs is eggs some of the contents will end up on the floor. That’s why people have dogs!
