Your uses are many,

Crafted from the finest hardwood

you support the humble tableware that rests upon you

you might bemoan the kitchen chairs

but its the silver spoons, and knives and forks

that the hoo-mans use that rest on you

and its you they congregate round when

the fish and chip suppers are rested on a friday morn

the little uns do their writing and sums

and occasionally do something crafty with mum and dad

when paint and sticky stuff go all over you

your reward ? a good wipe down and a bit of polish

and when its one of those special days

you’ll be all dressed up in your finest

to show off an extra special dinner or tea
