A reminiscence
I remember the house move like it was yesterday,
Mum and dad went looking at the place
the garden needed a trim
the backyard needed clearing out
and there was a fireplace that needed ripping out
the ulterior motive – little blister needed a bedroom
Mum wasn’t overkeen – dad was more enamoured
“Structurally Solid” is what he called it
the fireplace went west – the carpets went in
together with the rest of the furniture
teddy bears found new thinking spots
and little blister got her bedroom in strawberry pink
