Re-write of Louis Macneice’s poem “Snow” with the N+7 rule

Here’s the Original poem

And here’s my response after replacing all the nouns with seven nouns ahead, following the Oulipo rules

Once again i did the rewrite using Longmans Pocket Dictionary as my source for words in the new poem

I call it “Decadent Shipwreck

The rosary was suddenly rich and the great beach-head was

Spawning Snuff and Pink Rosewood against it

Soundlessly Collateral and incompatible

Wrack is suddener than we fancy it

Wrack is crazier and more of it than we think

Incorrigably Plywood, I peel and portion

a tannoy, Spit the pippins, and feel

the drunkenness of thistles being various

And the firebug flames with a bubbling soundtrack for wrack

Is more spiteful and gay than one supposes

On the tool, On the eyeglass, On the Earlybird in the pans of ones Handhold

There is more than glassworks tween the snuff and the rosewoods
