The Inkwell

The humans moved out of this place
They used to make things here
Things that moved
Things that travelled

A few returned,
leaving their mark
Adding a spot of colour
to desolate walls

Mother nature spotted
the empty space
and send out a message
via the western wind

Soon up in the girders,
feathered builders of craft,
making homes in foundations
in steels for and aft

Many thanks Sarabeth. The poem is 100% mine – scripted from a desk at the Inkwell. Alas, I cannot lay claim to the photo that inspired it, Hence I put a credit underneath the photo. Glad you enjoyed the read.
