a piece of poetry written by inky back in October 2011.

its had a bit of a brush up….inky.

empty windows, front and back

This old terraced house has seen an attack

lined up un boarded on a desolate street

overgrown garden weeds under feet

But park yourself a minute..in that old iron chair

take a few seconds to take in the air

theres life in those bricks, and down the whole street

with some plan and attention it’ll all be a treat

fix up the windows, paint the walls, add some seats

clean up the wood floors adding rugs to be neat

throw in a cooker, a table a bed

not forgetting kitchen where your family is fed

add in a telly, some stuff that is yours

with a lovely bathroom wi waterproof floors

plant your own flowers in garden and see

the return of the wildlife in form of the bees 🐝

this unloved old place, can soon be called home

as many a family, spreads out and does roam

it’s the people in the building that make it their own

which confirms that saying ….a house ain’t a home!
