By jove! – a prompt on the banana

A bendy little fruit – handy for lunch boxes

Nice between two slices of buttered bread

And even better when combined with

Nuts, ice cream and chocolate sauce to produce

A delight to be served after dinner

Maybe – its the way you tell everyone you’re ready

As you change colour – from Green to Yellow

Not everyone likes it when this happens

In fact – they wait for when you are just turning brown

As a reason, to pull out the frying pan and cook you in batter

(or mash you up to turn you into a cake!)
