In response to the prompt Nothin’ But A Good Time

20th January 2016

If I had a free day tomorrow and the weather was fine, I’d pack my camera, wallet and a picnic lunch and take myself on a Train Ride.

My National Travel Card gives me access to the Buses either free or at concessionary rate across the UK and my Railcard can take me from John O Groats to Lands End, if that’s where I want to go.

If I go via the Manchester Metrolink System – I could be visiting Bury’s various museums within the hour, The Lancashire Fusiliers Museum is a mere stones throw from the station, or I could get on the Oldham & Rochdale line and visit Rochdale’s Pioneer Museum – Dedicated to the work of the Co-Operative Movement in the town.

A donkey ride on the beach! Blackpool, Lancashire, England:

Head on the train, if the weather was fine – and I could be promenading down the seafront at either Prestatyn to the west or Blackpool , Southport or Morecambe to the north.  However, as it’s still winter in Northwest England i’ll apply some Blue Sky Thinking and go in a few weeks when (hopefully) the weather has improved.

Thing is – where am I on Thursday Afternoon ?

Iwm Waterside

I’ll be here – on the banks of the Manchester ship canal – at Imperial War Museum North – doing a volunteer shift 🙂

Roll on Weekend….:)
