Greeting eyes to Morning sky
Running water sounds
followed by the pleasant noise
of crumpets leaping upward

Two buttery crumpets leap from a shiny toaster in this cozy kitchen scene. -
It went out at sundown
on a quest for something shiny
the crew chasing their luck
for sunken treasure
as their captain set a course
for treasures untold
following sun and moon
and avoiding dangers of the deep

As time moves through the seasons
the clouds they pass on by
sometimes watering the flowers below
as heading to the ground they fly
Landing raindrops bounce
and deliver a spot of colour
as sunlight passes through
one hue after another
and little growing flowers
rise up out of the ground
tasting the fresh raindrops
thats landed all around
some raindrops create ripples
while some they create crowns
as they join their chums in the river
making a rushing sound
but most hang around on the flowers
giving their petals a feed
heading for their roots and bulbs
and giving the moisture they need

walking past an active scene
looking at a guy passing on by
as a fellow feeds the fish
and the seagulls tussle
for the falling scraps
don’t try chasing them off though
reality will hit – hard

I like the weather when it is sunny
when the flowers and trees
say a friendly hello
and feathered friends land
in their branches to rest
before stretching their wings
and watch – as away they go!

crossing the fields of northwest england
hoping for plenty of sunny weather
over the hills of the pennines I go
overseeing landscapes normally seen in the distance
carriages move over lines of steel
helped along by the wheels of the engine
occasionally they’ll stop , as passengers go on and
off, depending on destination

The Box plants watch on
as a race ensues across
the whitewashed stone brickwork
vines heading skyward
as they scale the wall
soon to be covered in bloom
in wonderous colours

Screenshot He’s been doing this for a while now
lighting up the city streets in all weathers
stood like a sentry on certain corners
so you can observe the dangers
of a snow covered floor
Rewards are few but welcome
changes from candle to coal , from gas to electric
and from time to time, a brush up of his coat
make the people passing smile
for they are proud of this centenarian
lighting the city streets

while shorter pieces
line up the many hardbacks
used for bedroom reading
