A sign of trouble
In the skies above – Alert
sign sent from above
Earth Satellite turns
the colour of glowing coals
up in the night sky
treetop residents
hide away from the first sight of
angry satellite moon

You’ve known this guy
for a while now
played tic-tac-toe in chalk
on street pavements
and shared corned beef butties
on golden sands on summer days
drifted apart on schooldays
while you were into chemistry
he was knocking in nails in CDT
but you would still be meeting up
in the playground or dining hall
and after time passed
and water trickled under the bridge
school reunion he’d spot you
from the back of the venue
and although you felt like a wallflower
he was there to greet you like you were the star of the show

the big clouds sent their chums a word
to every animal , plant and bird
that water supplies would be restored today
so they could drink and bathe and play
The humans hearing this did frown
particularly those who were out of town
but the big clouds told them not to fear
as there was lots of water for juice, wine and beer
So down the water, it did fall
paying the local wells and rivers a call
and when they’d finished, for a bit of fun
they painted a rainbow with their pal, the sun
and in the blue, the birds did fly
and bathe in the water , that came from the sky
while the animals and plants all had their fun
enjoying the water, while out in the sun

shimmering under
warm filtered bubbly water
circling his castle

past the oriental arch
greeted by Chinese lanterns
a mass for the senses
greets you hello
fish meat and vegetables
prepared with fruits and spices
and served up for you
to try a morsel
meals prepared for the imperial court
now brought to your plate
for your attention and thought
barbecue, noodles and then there’s dim sum
or perhaps you would like soup
would you like to eat some?

quite the odd couple
you all might say to yourselves
but these best of friends
look out for each other in need

while the river horse
keeps the big cats far away
from his friend, the egret

Chirping from the branches signalled to
all , this colourful character was back
returning to the tree he’d nested
down in as a chick
it had been a while , but
now the sparrows and bluebirds were
all happy to see him and
listen to tales of his travels

sausage hits the pan
met soon by onions , fried
and Tommy k bunned
sound of sausage
travels to where the children
are playing upstairs
sometimes sausage
meets with bacon and egg
and served on a plate
smiles in the school hall
as special cooked for lunch

The threads of the cloth
come together in harmony
as warp and weft
click and clack
line by musical line
each bit of the tune
brought by the shuttle
as click follows clack
and “rat a tat tat”
flows flamenco style
as the needles embroider
the cloth with rhythmic timing
The inner city jungle
can be dangerous sometimes.
Watch as your pets
go wild among grass
Disagreement over their Dinner
can lead to tantrums
cats can go haywire
over balls of wool
