An experiment in recording my work

Friday night in the Manchester Air
the birds are out for the night
in certain spots where the birdseed flows
and neon lights paint the town
sometimes Red, Sometimes Blue

Cats are creeping, out on the prowl
kings of their own domain
striding around in their preened green jungle
and playing with their catnip toys
singing out a chorus with their chums
before an impromptu lunch

What’s that laughter
down by the dockside
canada geese plan
avian manoeuvres west
while Mr and Mrs Canard deliver
lessons in wadding on the water

up in the treetop
mr and mrs sparrow
keep their little ones close
to block out the breeze
as they eat their fill

and who’s this coming
up the garden path ?
from scampering after
his favourite ball in the park
tail in the air – big wet nose on the floor
grown up puppy asks – time for tea?

(I would agree)
