They hung about in spring and summer
providing colour , and occasional shade
for the patrons of the park that used the
with changes in the weather
they let out a warning “Let everyone know –
of impending frost, ice, sleet and snow”
this didn;t stop adventurers though
as through the cold and wind they would go
trampling leaves with an occasional crunch
as they explored for a tasty dinner or lunch
