Something’s happening
the trees are bending
out of the clouds lights are falling
rods of electric heading to the floor
making resident tree tenants head for ground
big clouds illuminated and
ready with sound effects makes
everybody look out of their windows as
wind and lightning play a game in the dark
in time, both will settle down – but
note what comes next
great buckets of water, or maybe hail, maybe snow
