Waiting

#CCC054 #Acorns #Seeds #Waiting

After falling from a height

these little seeds of green and brown

are waiting about

for their opportunity

See, they’re waiting

for the local wildlife

to pick them up

or perhaps a child or their mum and dad

Waiting for that opportunity

where they’ll head for a warm, cosy bed

returning when the weathers warmer

and they’ll appear, quite different

and when the time is right

they’ll thank those who buried them away

by providing them with shade in the summer

or even a home amongst their branches

  1. I like your angle on this. But I will add one more ‘waiting’ based on my experience that day: Waiting for someone not paying attention to roll their ankle as they walk on by!!!!
