fueling the fire

he’s been in the booth

dropping dollars like bright nickels

getting attention

get to travel – no chance

so he sits listening – Angel

talking down the line

his pulse skipping as

he listens intently to her

beauty of a voice

rendezvous giggles

can be heard down the long street

as a date is formed

nickels and dimes

switched for dollar bills used in

the place where they eat
