Mummy Duck

people were surprised

at the big yellow mallard

in the boating lake

it was pleasantly cool

in its shadow while keeping

the shine of summer

and little ones all smiled

as the big duck bobbed about

giggles were plenty

but around her – look there

her little ones keeping about

up from the duck race

    We have a rubber duck race here every year. I’ll try and find my video of it and post it with my response to the challenge (if I have time).🐤
