Limonada

its thirty degrees in the shade

and they’ve chosen home instead of away

requiring something crisp on the varanda

while the sunbeams skip happily

across the canalside

bottle opens and rainbows shine as

bubbles rise happily

cool liquid fizzes over

ice cold cubes

some clinging over slices of fresh lemon

while others travel up the glass

watch the rainbows
