Following on from the scouting theme, I read this book as a young teenager, telling the tale of two sets of children out in the Cumbrian lakes.

I went out sailing on the clear blue waters of the Irish sea back in 1996, and i’m sure this book gave me the impetus to go exploring

Asterix the Gaul

When i was old enough, i was given a set of tickets for use in my local library. and one of the first books i read was from the Asterix set of books

This noble gaul took me on a trip around the roman dominated world, without having to leave my home

and i’m sure one of these books influenced me on my favourite Cuppa – TEA!

(Asterix in Britain)
