Large tin for the morning brew
boils away by hot stones
while home made bread
toasts by the embers
with buttery eggy bread
simmering in a nearby pan
sound of metal plates and cups
passed around
is broken for a moment
as the leader of the camp
makes his way towards the flagpole
and releases the flag, saluting.
