Empire

It starts off simply enough

a place to rest your head

a spot to draw water from deep underground

and a spot to grow food on

Wood from the forest

make shelters

and stones from the hills

make walls

shiny stuff down in the ground

used for bangles or beads

also used for

buying stuff

Roads connect you

with nearby neighbours

who bring new things

and you sell them

And as some become friends

others covet your things

so metal and wood

combine for defence
