Mum and Dad let the kids loose
in the family kitchen
butter eggs and flour
went into the mixing bowl
red wanted a fruit cake
while barney wanted a chocolate one
red really didn’t like milk chocolate
while barney didn’t like nuts
so these were left in the cupboard
and plain chocolate and sultanas came out instead
mixed all together by the pair
they put it in the oven (with a little help from Dad)
result enjoyed at teatime?
