I like reading as a pastime
and overtime – you can tell
which ones are my favourites
Older books have pencil marks
where i’ve dotted a page before bed
or splash marks caused by
an errant cup of hot cocoa
Some have impressions
where the leather bookmarks
resting at a particular spot
between pages
But there’s a simpler way
to find my favourite books
simply spot my thumb origami
where i’ve kept on going back to take a look
