Heading for the Border

Daily writing prompt
Think back on your most memorable road trip.

The Bags packed

The Car prepared

The House locked up till we return

The Journey began

Rolling through meadow and dale

occasionally stopping

so the driver and navigator

could take a break

Taking in blue skies and local wildlife

Till we past into areas new

Manchester and Salford passed into distance

as Melrose and Edinburgh awaited

Comforts of home next to some different neighbours

who greeted us with a smile from a nearby field

admiring the sight of a woolly jumper

while suits and ties hung in the wardrobe

Bells Rang out and vows exchanged

Speeches made and meals enjoyed

Dancing the night away to burn off the calories

Ready to walk around the castle on the following afternoon
